Board sailing as we used to say is one of the most beautiful water sports there is. Alone or with a few friends, get totally absorbed in the speed or tranquillity that windsurfing gives you. A beautiful sport where you move forward across the water by means of a surf sail and a surfboard with the help of a (preferably powerful) portion of wind. When you take to the water to windsurf, you do need a few things. To start with, you need a windsurf board, a surf sail, a mast, a boom, mast foot extender, baseplate and some small accessories.
Another thing you should use is a trapeze. This allows you to hang from your boom by means of trapeze strings and allows you to surf longer because you are less likely to get tired, but also your posture will improve so your speed will also increase. There is something for every windsurfer whether you are a freerider or have mastered latest tricks, but maybe you are the new Dutch record holder on speed every board, every sail is different. You have so much choice that it might sometimes be a bit difficult to find the right set. We are therefore happy to help you optimise your windsurfing set. In addition, we at Eurofuncenter always have the best deal so you never pay too much.
Windsurf boards, sails, masts and booms come in different sizes. Windsurf boards have volume in litres as an indication of how much buoyancy a board provides. Sails work with square metres, masts and booms work with metres/centimetres. It is always important to get the combination of board and sail right. It sometimes happens that a sail is too big or too small for a particular board. As a result, the board cannot be sailed optimally. Another factor is the size of the fin. It gives a certain lift and ensures that you sail straight and keep your grip on the water.
A fin that is too small can cause a spin-out (your surfboard slides away at the back and you go sideways over the water instead of straight ahead) and this often results in a crash. However, a fin that is too big has so much lift that your board cannot be controlled properly and the board continuously rises out of the water. There are several brands that produce fins and on sites of these brands or on our webshop you can find diagrams of how big your fin should be in combination with your sail. As a rule, normally the bigger your sail, the bigger your fin should be.
At Eurofuncenter we always have several complete windsurfing sets on offer, so you can be ready with a brand new set in one go. These sets are also always ready to sail! Windsurfing. Then Eurofuncenter is your shop to start.
